Why I Started The Unshredded (And Why It’s Not Just Another Fitness Blog)

Hey there—first off, thanks for being here. I know there are a ton of fitness blogs out there. Some of them are great. Others? Not so much.
So why am I throwing my hat into the ring?
Simple: I’m creating the blog I wish I had when I started my fitness journey..
Let me tell you why.
I Was Tired of the Highlight Reel
At my heaviest, I was 335 pounds. I was uncomfortable, frustrated, and honestly… exhausted.
Not just physically, but mentally—because it felt like everything I tried either didn’t work or wasn’t sustainable.
I’d start a new diet or workout plan with the best intentions, only to fall off a few weeks later. Life would get in the way. Work. Family. Stress.
The idea of being “shredded” just felt so far away, like a goal built for someone else.
Looking back on how I felt back then and combining the real experience working with people to achieve their goals I got the idea for The Unshredded.
What The Unshredded Is All About
This isn’t a blog about becoming a fitness model. I’m not here to preach or flex.
This is about real-life fitness for real people—especially the ones who feel like the industry has left them behind.
You won’t find any six-pack worship here. What you will find are:
- Honest stories from my own journey (including mistakes and wins)
- Practical strategies for losing weight, building strength, and staying sane
- Humor, because let’s be honest—fitness culture is hilarious sometimes
- Encouragement for when life gets hard, because it does
If you’re a busy parent, someone who works 9–5 (or 9–9), or just trying to feel better without feeling broken—this blog is for you.
What You Can Expect from This Blog
Because your time is precious, I want this blog to be insanely useful. Here’s what I’ll be sharing:
- Simple, effective workouts you can stick to (no BS required)
- Healthy meal ideas that don’t feel like punishment
- Mindset strategies to keep going when motivation dies
- Honest reflections on what it’s like to get fit without obsessing
Plus, I’ll share the tools, gear, and routines that are helping me make this work—and what’s not worth your time.
Why This Matters (to Me—and Maybe to You)
I’m not here to be an influencer.
I’m here to build something useful. Something honest. Something unshredded.Because we don’t need another unrealistic fitness guru yelling at us to hustle harder.
We need a space where people can make real progress, laugh a little, and remember that being strong doesn’t always mean having abs.
Let’s Do This Together
If that sounds like your kind of vibe, I’d love for you to stick around.
Here’s how you can join me:
- Follow The Unshredded on Facebook
- Subscribe to the newsletter (coming soon—no spam, ever)
- Leave a comment or shoot me a message—tell me what you’re working on
Thanks again for reading. I’m excited to see where this goes—and even more excited that you’re here at the start.
Let’s build something real. Together.
Stay unshredded,
Chris
